Three Major Generals Promoted

 


High powered Board of Pak Army has promoted three Major Generals to Lt. Generals on 18th September; one each from Artillery, Air Defense and Infantry regiments. They are Tahir Hameed Shah, Amer Ahsan Nawaz and Sarfraz Ahmed.


In my blog last week, I predicted the promotion of Major Generals in coming months. Three Lt Generals retired this month have been replaced by the newly promoted generals. The three Lt Generals who got retired are Muhammad Aamir, Chiragh Haider and Khalid Zia. The fourth Lt Gen who was to be retire was Nadeem Anjum, the DG ISI but he has been given extension in his services. Two more Lt. Generals will retire in November- December this year.

I predicted promotion of five Major Generals out of which two have been promoted today. They are Maj Gen Tahir Hameed Shah & Maj. Gen. Amer Ahsan Nawaz. Both of these officers are professional soldiers and have immaculate track record. Tahir Hameed has commanded 16 Div Pano Aqil as GOC while Amer Ahsan Nawaz has commanded 12 Div Murree as GOC.

The third Major General who is elevated to Lt. General is Sarfarz Ahmed. He has commanded 8 Div Sialkot as GOC. He belongs to Army Air Defense Corps..

All these are course mate and passed out from PMA 82nd Batch Long Course.

NADRA UNDER CONTROL OF A SERVING GENERAL

       With the passage of each and every day, Army is tightening his grip on both military and civilian institutions. In an unprecedented move a serving Lt. Gen from infantry has been appointed as Chairman NADRA.       Lt. General Muhammad Munir Afsar who has recently been given charge of Chairman NADRA belongs to Punjab Regiment of Infantry and currently holds the post of Inspector General Communication & Information Technology GHQ and one of the Principal Staff officers of Army Chief.
